Community And The Market

julie200300.JPGThe Monroe Village Farmers' Market began because a small group of neighbors wanted to bring fresh food and a spirit of community to Monroe Avenue. Shoppers at a farmers' market have, on average, many more conversations than those in a grocery store.

We catch up with neighbors, share recipes, find out the best way to grill tomatoes or make apple pie, learn about how our food was grown and a little about life on the farm. It's a very different experience, slower, more social, and, we would argue, more fun.

We invite all of our neighbors to join us at the market and we savor and celebrate the eclectic Monroe Avenue mix.
