RECIPE FOR THIS WEEK

Serves 8

Ingredients

  • 4 Tblspn honey
  • 2 Tblspn reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tspn salt
  • 1/4 tspn crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 lbs fresh green beans, trimmed

Preparation

  1. Whisk together the ingredients for the sauce (first 5 ingredients). Set aside.
  2. Blanch the beans, ice them, and pat them dry.
  3. Coat a stockpot with cooking spray.
  4. Add the beans. Stir constantly over high heat until slightly blistered (2 to 3 minutes).
  5. Add the sauce. continue stirring until the beans are coated and the sauce starts to evaporate slightly (2-3 minutes).
  6. Remove from the heat.
