PREVIOUSLY AT THE MARKET

The Market Day started with nice weather, but a big thunderstorm came through at about 6:00 and sent everyone scrambling for cover!

Thanks to Shana for this week's photography! We need a photographer every week. Lots of interesting people stop at the Market from 4 to 7. There are many photo ops. Our readers enjoy all sorts of images and insights as recorded by smartphones, point-and-shoots, or professional cameras. Contact Allen at allen@triptar.com.

Here are a few pics from last week:

Soon after the official starting time.

COMMUNITY TENT THIS WEEK

Flower City Cohousing Community

Cohousing began in Europe in the 1970s and now there are over 120 cohousing communities in the US and Canada (EcoVillage in Ithaca is our closest sister community). In a cohousing community, residents actively participate in the design and operation of their neighborhood. The physical design of the neighborhood offers both privacy and social contact. Imagine the privacy of your own home with a community at your doorstep.

At our table at the Farmers Market this week, you will learn about our mission and progress towards creating a diverse, ecologically responsible, and caring intentional community in Rochester. The schedule of upcoming informational and social events where you can meet current members will also be available.

RECIPE FOR THIS WEEK

Selected by Maxine Manjos

Cheddar Cheese and Green Pepper Spread

Easy entertaining is the hallmark of summer. It doesn't get much easier than this. The spread lasts for a week in the refrigerator, so make a batch and keep it on hand.
